BLUE LIZARD CANARY CLUB OPEN SHOW REPORT

                   By David Allen.

The Blue Lizard Canary club held there 4th Open show on Sunday the 15th of December 2019 at Begbroke Village hall.

Judge for the show was Ian Wright.  Numbers were slightly down on last year but with a number of members not having a good breeding seasons this was to be expected. But the number of Natural Lizard was up. 39 Blues and 23 Naturals total of 62.

Ian picked out Stan Bolton’s Clear cap Blue hen as best in show this bird also went on to win best clear cap. 2ne best Lizard and best broken cap went to DTA Lizard stud with a broken blue cock.

Best Non cap went to Graham Davis with a non cap blue hen best over year blue went to Geoff White with a over year blue hen, best in the Novice section went to Bob Sneddon with a non cap blue hen.

In the natural Lizard section Stan pulled off the double by winning with clear cap gold cock in gold cock class, Tony Horton won best silver with a silver cock also taking best novice natural Lizard as well best over year natural went to Bob Sneddon.

As few words from the judge Ian Wright, both winners were in superb condition and immaculately presented. The Blue had excellent melanin which contrasted nicely with the white ground colour in both spangles and rowing.

The Natural Lizard had a perfectly neat and well defined spangling with outstanding ground colour that was shown of to great effect by the clear cap, the club would like to thank Ian for judging the show.

The club would like to thank the IOA and Haiths for their support of the show and to all the members who both showed and visited the show.

Final a big thankyou to Tracy Allen for keeping us all fed and watered and another lovely dinner.
