WORLD SHOW 2018 CESENA ITALY.

THE SHOW THIS YEAR WAS HELD IN THE BEAUTIFUL CITY OF CESENA ITALY.

I ARRIVED AT THE SHOW HALL ON THE FRIDAY MORNING AND THE FIRST PERSON I SAW WAS MY GOOD FREIND BRIAN HOGG FROM ENGLAND. WE GOT IN LINE FOR OUR TICKETS. AWAITING TO GET IN TO SEE THE BIRDS. UPON ENTERING THE HALL WE WERE GREETED WITH A VERY SPACOUS AND WELL LIGHT HALL. I MADE WAY TO THE LIZARD SECTION, WHICH WAS IN ONE OF THE WIDES ROWS IN THE HALL, BUT THEY WERE ALL WELL SPACED ANYWAY. I WENT SRAIGHT TO CHECK ON MY BLUE LIZARD ENTRIES BEFORE LOOKING AT THE WINNING BIRDS, MY BIRD GOT THE SCORE I THOUGHT THEY WOULD. ANYWAY TO MY REPORT ON THE WINNING BIRDS.

THE FIRST CLASS I LOOKED AT WAS THE NON CAP BLUE CLASS [THIS YEAR THE CLASSES HAVE BEEN INCREASED, THERE ARE 3 SINGLE CLASSES AND 3 STAM CLASSES]

1ST IN THE NON CAP CLASS WAS-- JAC GUBBLES WITH 94 POINTSIT HAD GOOD DARK SRIAGHT SPANGLES WITH SOME GOOD SPANGLES ON THE CAP THIS BIRD WAS ALSO FULL OF BREAST WORK, A REALLY NICE BIRD OVER ALL WORTH OF THE FIRST PLACE.

2ND WAS ANDREAS STAMM WITH 93 POINTS THIS TO HAD GOOD DARK SPANGLES AND WELL DEFINED POSSIBLE SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN THE 1ST PLACED BUT HAD NO SPANGLES ON THE CAP AND NOT SO MUCH BREAST WORK.

3RD WAS GIORGIO MASSARUTTO WITH92 POINTS THIS BIRD HAD GOOD SPANGLES BUT DIDN'T LINE UP VWERY WELL WHEN I LOOKED AT THE BIRD AGAINLEST BREAST WORK THAN THE OTHER 2 BIRDS.

CLASS 228 CLEAR CAP BLUE. 1ST IN THIS CLASS WAS FURIO COPPELLI WITH93 POINTS  A VERY NICE CLEAR CLEAN CRISP CAP DARK AND SRAIGHT SPANGLES I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO SEE MORE DEFINISION ON THE SPANGLES. THE BREAST WORK WAS REALLY DARK AND LOT OF IT.

2ND WAS GIORGIO MASSARUTTO WITH 92 POINTS WITH THIS HAD SOME REALLY DARK SPANGLES NOT TOO STRAIGHT WHEN I SAW IT. BUT ONCE AGAIN FULL OF BREAST WORK.

3RD WAS GUSSEPPE FODALE WITH 91 POINTS  THIS HAD DARK SPABGLES NOT VERY STRAIGHT AT MY TIME OF VIEWING THIS BIRD ALSO LACK SOME BREAST WORK COMPARED TO OTHER TWO BIRDS BEFORE IT.

CLASS 230 BROKEN CAP BLUE   1ST PLACE WENT TO PAOLO VICCIDOMINI WITH 94 POINTS-- GOOD DARK WELL DEFINE SPANGLES AND VERY GOOD BREAST WORK. THE CAP WAS A BIT TOO LONG FOR ME.

2ND WENT BART DECKERS WITH 93 POINTS-- ANOTHER REALLY NICE BIRD FROM BART GOOD SPANGLES AND REALLY STRAIGHT ONCE AGAIN GOOD BREAST WORK.

3RD  WAS ALFONS TENBROKE WITH 92 POINTS-- GOOD DARK SPANGLES BUT NOT AS DIFNES AS THE OTHER 2 IN THIS CLASS AND NOT AS MUCH BREAST WORK EITHER BUT WITH A NICER CAP.

WORLD SHOW REPORT 2017 SPAIN ALMERIA

BLUE LIZARDS.

This is only my own personnel opinion of the Blue lizards at the world show in Spain.

There was 44 Blue lizards in the singles class  and 10 stams in that class which makes a total of 84 Blue Lizards, at the show. There was52 Blue lizards at the National at Stafford in 2016 [which is the same show year] positions in the singles class were as follows.

1st  with 94 points was Max Bizet -- this was a Clear Cap Blue Cock--- It had a nice clear cap with good dark spangles but I felt the spangles were not as well defined as I would have liked to see making them look trammie. it had good size and dark legs and beak. some breast work but not too much.

2nd with 93 points was Julan Carlos -- a Broken Cap blue, this bird was large in size with good large dark spangles but again they lacked definition for me .

3rd with 92 points was Miguel Gonzalez --this bird was a Non Cap with good breast work and dark spangles but again lacked definition for me. and I would liked to have seen more spangles on the cap area

4th with 90 was David Allen UK.  5th with 90 points was  Maria Jose

the reason 4th and 5th are placed although there other birds in the class on 9o points is, all the medal winning bird have to have their ring number checked and if any are incorrect the other placed birds are promoted up. As there is no time to re-judge the class.

There was as I said 10 stam of Blue Lizards [a stam is a team of four birds that should be identical]

1st was  Wahl Gerhard with 368 points: this was a stam of clear caps all had well defined dark spangles and good dark legs and  good evenness across all four birds.  [you get 6 extra points for harmony  or as I have said evenness]

2nd was Julan Carlos with 366 points , 3rd was Alfons Tenbroke with 364 point,  4th was Jac Gubbels with 363 points.

the Blue Lizards were judged by Tezanos Espinosa from Germany.

Over all I thought the judge was Ok but the birds that were selected for the top 3 places all lacked definition in the spangles on their backs there were nice large dark spangles but not clear enough between each for me.  I also noticed a lot of birds in all the Lizard class with the cap tending to run a bit too far down the neck for my liking.

I will not give my opinions on the other Lizard classes but there were a few birds I though should have done better. David Allen but as I stated this is only my own personnel opinion of the birds.
